Our display at The Garden ExpoFebruary enews

February’s weather started off hot and muggy and we hit some official temperature highs of 31 degrees on the evening weather map. Unofficially, it was 36 in the shade and around 40 degrees in the sun in our orchard. This was combined with high humidity to make working in the middle of the day very difficult

Now things have mellowed a bit. There is a definite nip in the air morning and night, the days are shortening and there is more of an autumn feel to the weather. The cicadas are going for it, singing so loudly that it is almost deafening. The light has a beautiful clear shinning quality that makes everything look new and you want to have digital camera eyes to preserve, freeze frame, the beauty around you each day.

It has been a busy month for us with two trade shows on one weekend, increased interest from various groups in tours of the factory, and demonstrations of our products in Wellington. Not to mention the fact that the processing goes on in between. We have also been featured in the NZ Lifestyle Block magazine for February and the March edition of The NZ Gardener out now.

The weekend of the 18th, 19th and 20th saw Christine exhibiting at ‘The Garden Expo’ at the TSB Stadium. This was an event organised by the New Plymouth Horticultural Society and was professional yet friendly. Many people came up to ask about growing a tree, cracking nuts, pruning their tree and so on… Past pupils, friends, even unknown relatives appeared as well as people who have met us at other events or toured the factory. It was lovely to receive words of encouragement from so many and we thank you sincerely for all your good wishes.

Saturday the 19th saw Bill and daughter Janet at ‘The Taranaki Wine and Food Festival’ organised by the Egmont Lions Club. There was real interest shown in our products, the day was hot and sunny and everyone enjoyed the day. As usual we opened for tours on the Sunday afternoon 1 30pm to 4 30pm so by the end of the weekend we were exhibited out!

If you have met us and checked out our products at one of these occasions  remember that it is so easy to shop on line. When you go into our order page you are dealing direct with WorldPay, like dealing direct with a bank. We never receive your credit card details they do. They send us the order, we fill it and follow your instructions then courier it free anywhere in New Zealand. We then send you an email to say it has been sent. Easy! Easy is one of the things the ‘e’ stands for. Don’t forget to think of us for gifts for friends and family. Just e mail us with what you would like to spend and we will create a gift kete, basket, box and can send you a photo so you can see what we suggest. Easy!

March is shaping up to be even busier. We start the month with ‘Let’s Hear it for the Girls’ a two day Show at the TSB Stadium on the weekend of the 5th and 6th. On  Saturday morning, the 5th we are also at a gathering of  Scandinavian descendants at The Plymouth Hotel. Later on in the month we have three days at ’The Home Show’, a conference and several tours booked as well. More about all this next month.

So here’s to being busy, challenged and enjoying life! Go out there and follow your dreams. From all of us, have an e-mazing day.
