A very busy month ahead for us, ending as it does with the Rhododendron and Garden Festival on the 29th of October. This is an annual event showcasing both private and public gardens in the Taranaki region. An integral part of the festival is the wide variety of art, music, theatre, demonstrations, debates, exhibitions that are happening during the 10 days, for more information go to www.rhodo.co.nz

We are open for the festival and are busy getting ready for it. For more information about times and tours visit our tours page.

Christine was invited down to Wellington to the opening of the newly revamped shop at Te Papa - Our national museum. It is a beautiful shop full of top quality art, jewellery, glass, pottery, carvings, cosmetics, wine… and now our foil pouches and soon our new range of macadamia soaps. The evening was attended by The Friends of Te Papa and Christine took our macadamia spread and macadamia chocolate chip biscuits down for people to taste. A lot of interest was shown in the spread made from roasted macadamias, a product soon to appear, we are just waiting on the labels!

We have been invited to be part of the Slow Food Expo at the Govett Brewster Art Gallery in New Plymouth on Sunday 31st of October, starting at 2pm. This is another great opportunity for people to taste our products and to get to know us.

On the home front, the nuts are still falling and they are being processed in batches through the factory. We have developed a new chocolate bar with toasted macadamia shavings submerged in milk or dark chocolate. It is packed in an elegant slim box that comes in a variety of colours foil printed in silver or gold with our logo. They make a delicious exquisite gift. A new soap has been added to our range, this one especially for feet. It is designed to exfoliate, moisturise and deodorise your feet and is rich in macadamia oil. Both these new products will appear on the products page, so keep a watch for new developments.

We live on a beautiful property that borders the Oakura River on one side. We often go over there for lunch even in winter as long as the day is sunny. The beauty of the place, the rhythmic rush of the water over stones, the Tuis calling and the golden kowhai tree raining blossoms into the water fill us with peace and gratitude that we are blessed to be able to soak up such beauty. Peace be with you also.
